Old Bridge Mayor Owen Henry reads the name of the person he selected as the first prize winner in the Kiwanis Club of Old Bridge August 24, 2013 drawing for New York Yankee box seats. Alison and Anthony Pusillo won four box seats to the Yanks’ Sept. 1 game against the Baltimore Orioles including admission to the Mohegan Sun Bar and Audi Club (Valued at $960). The second prize of two box seats (Valued at $200) for Mariano Rivera Day on Sept. 22 against the San Francisco Giants went to Lynn Goldberg. Santa Claus (Bernie Zahran), a hospital volunteer, Diane Strus,Jackie Pfingstl and Andy Strus hand out toys donated by the Kiwanis Club of Old Bridge to ill children at St. Peter’s Hospital last Christmas.

For the second consecutive Christmas, members of the Kiwanis Club of Old Bridge donated toys to sick children at St. Peter’s Hospital in New Brunswick. Pictured from left are prospective member Louis, Jacqueline Pfingstl, Santa (Bernie Zahran) and Diane and Andy Strus. Toys were distributed to children and their siblings not only in the pediatric care department, but also the emergency room and waiting areas. The surprise visit brought joy to many children who wouldn’t have otherwise enjoyed Christmas of 2012.

Congratulations to Marie Valo of Old Bridge for winning first prize in the 2012 Yankee Raffle Ticket fundraiser. Ms. Valo won four first class box seats with admission to Mohegan Sun Sports Bar and Audi Restaurant for the September 1 game against the Baltimore Orioles. Ms. Marilyn McMahon of Westfield was the second prize winner, earning two box seats to the Sept. 16 game against the Tampa Bay Rays. Kiwanis Club of Old Bridge raised $3,345.00 in this wonderful fundraiser. Thank you to everyone who participated for helping out the children of our communities through this fundraiser. Kiwanis Club of Old Bridge is always seeking ways and means to raise money to contribute to children’s charities. Thank you all!

Kiwanis Club of Old Bridge officers hold up a Hawaiian themed cake at the dinner mystery play fundraiser event hosted by the club last April. Sayreville’s Main Street Players performed the play, “Murder on Maui.” Kiwanis made donations to Make-A-Wish Foundation, St. Jude’s Hospital and Ronald McDonald House from the fundraiser proceeds.

Old Bridge Police Chief William Volkert and Kiwanis Club of Old Bridge President Mary Spina hold up Yankee’s tickets raffled off to raise funds for children’s charities. Old Bridge resident Ron Weber was the winner and awarded four field box seats and admission to the members – only Audi Club. The raffle raised $3900 to be distributed to children’s charities.
